Originally opened in 1957, the current mining lease for Taylor’s
Quarry covers an area of approximately 1 076 hectares with the total
production of premium grade dark to medium colour Nero Impala®
currently coming from the T7 quarry. Although the current production
of 3 000 m3 per annum is minimal, this is set to increase
progressively in the longer term. The material is of good quality and
similar enough to the material from Springbok Quarry so that the medium
colours are often used interchangeably.
